Principal's Message

Dear Families,

This week was an exciting one at Davenport! Our Career Day was a huge success, and we are incredibly grateful to all of the community members who took time out of their day to visit and share their professions with our students. Your willingness to inspire and educate our learners is truly appreciated.

A special thank you to our Career Day Committee for organizing the event and securing our wonderful presenters. We would also like to recognize our Guidance Team and homeroom teachers for leading the "Career Day Scoot" activity, where students participated in a fun career scavenger hunt to explore different professions they may want to pursue in the future.

Our students also got into the spirit by dressing up as their future careers, from doctors, construction workers, nurses, teachers, veterinarians, etc. It was amazing to see their excitement and imagination as they envisioned their future possibilities.

Looking ahead to the upcoming week, students will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair. Please be sure to follow up with your child’s teacher to confirm the day your child is scheduled to attend. We are also excited for Book Fair Family Night on Wednesday! Families are invited to come out and shop for books together.

We look forward to another great week of learning! 📚✨

What a fun day on Friday!! Third grade classes rotated through classrooms and learned about so many different careers: firefighters, police officers, nurses, musicians, chefs, construction workers, and a visit from a member of the EHT community center! Check out the pics below!

We had a fun surprise!
Mrs. White dropped by to talk to me, and we invited her to stay and read to our class! She read a "Harold and the Purple Crayon" story, and the students loved it!
